Privacy Policy
What we collect through this website, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
Who this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Golden Legacy Advisors ("we," "us") collects, uses and shares information through goldenlegacyadvisors.com (the "Site"). It applies to visitors to the Site and to anyone who contacts us through it.
It does not replace the privacy notices you receive as a client. Fee-based financial planning and investment advisory services are offered by Sound Income Strategies, LLC, an SEC registered investment advisory firm, which provides its own privacy notice under federal law when you become a client. Insurance carriers provide their own notices for any policy or contract you apply for. If you are a client, those notices govern how your nonpublic personal financial information is handled, and they control if they conflict with this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use a form on the Site, we receive what you enter: your name, email address and, if you choose to provide them, your phone number, the topic you select and your message. The Insights signup form collects only your email address. If you book a meeting through the scheduler, you provide your name, email and any answers to the booking questions directly to Calendly, which shares them with us so we can hold the meeting.
Information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, the company that hosts the Site keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the date and time of each request. We do not use analytics software, advertising pixels or tracking tools on the Site.
Please do not send sensitive information through the Site. Do not include Social Security numbers, account numbers, passwords or similar details in a form or email. If we need information like that to serve you, we will collect it through a secure channel.
Cookies
The Site itself sets one cookie, named gla-theme, which remembers whether you prefer the light or dark display. It contains no personal information and expires after one year.
The scheduling tool on our Contact page is provided by Calendly and may set its own cookies when it loads, to operate the scheduler. Our web fonts are delivered by Fontshare, which receives your IP address when your browser requests the font files. These providers handle that information under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work, although the scheduler may not.
How we use information
We use the information you give us to respond to your inquiry, schedule and prepare for meetings, consider advisor career inquiries, send the Insights emails you asked for, keep records we are required to keep, and protect the Site against spam and misuse. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
How long we keep it
Financial professionals are required by securities and insurance regulations to keep records of business communications, often for several years. We keep inquiries and related correspondence for as long as those rules require, and otherwise only as long as needed for the purpose you provided them. Insights subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe.
How we protect it
The Site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to inquiries to the people who need them to respond. No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and ordinary email is not encrypted end to end, which is why we ask you not to send sensitive details through the Site.
Your choices and rights
- Email. Every Insights email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us to be removed.
- Access, correction and deletion. You may ask us what information we hold about you from the Site, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will honor deletion requests except where the law requires us to keep a record.
- State privacy laws. Depending on where you live, laws such as those in Colorado and California may give you additional rights. We will respond to a reasonable request about your information whether or not a particular law applies to us.
To make a request, email info@goldenlegacyadvisors.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within 45 days.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. Because the Site does not track visitors across other websites over time, does not sell personal information and does not use targeted advertising, there is no tracking for those signals to switch off, and the Site works the same way whether or not one is sent. Apart from the providers named in this policy, we do not allow third parties to collect information about your activity on the Site.
Children
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
The Site links to services and pages we do not control, including Calendly, Facebook and Instagram. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we have already collected, we will notify you by email before it takes effect where we have your address.
